This is for the Healers

For all my peeps who play a MMO. Especially a healer, this picture is for you.

I can't help laugh every time I see this.

*** Note: I did not create this picture. It has been in my media stream and I am sharing with you guys for fun. I am not getting paid to display this. If  you are the creator, thank you for the wonderful picture.

Awesome Videos

I love watching videos and looking at pictures of XIV. My husband found me 2 of the most awesome videos on  YouTube.  If you haven't played XIV, you should want to play it after these 2 videos.

Look at how beautiful this game is. I'm just in awe of how the developers can make this world so beautiful.

This video is just awesome. I can't say anything more on that.

Shitty People (Rant.... Sort of)

So tonight right before ER maintenance, hubby and I get on game. We did a trial roulette. I updated a piece of gear. Then we watched a video guide for Fractial Continum (FC) before we head in there. As you know video guides are just that guides. They give you an idea what the mechanics are and what the bosses do. While actually playing the game can be different due to party make up etc. So you can gather, that this is our first time for this dungeon. So let me get on with the my gripe.

So we enter FC and of course the party gets the message that there's new player. Tank even said, 'oh new meat'. So party make up, blm, whm (hubby), brd (me) and drk. So we are going thru mobs fine. We made the 1st boss with no issue. Now the tank wants to speed run I guess because he won't stay out of AOEs, same as the Blm, which is causing strain on hubby's mp. I had to use mages ballad to help him out with mp. Tank dies. There's no mp to cure if he keeps standing in aoe. We end up wiping and having to get back to where were. Then we finally get to 2nd boss. We get thru it without a wipe. Then we are doing trash before next boss. Drk still doing the not dodging aoes. Then blm dies with tank. One of them asked if one of us were dual boxing cause we can't seem to bring dps and keep these two alive. I was going to say something but hubby said don't bother answering them. So I didn't say anything. Then we get back to place again, pass some mobs and then made it room where you jump platforms, and tank of course does he what he does best. We die but we don't have time to finish dungeon anyway. Then tank starts to bad mouth hubby and I to blm. I left the party and duty before I could respond. Hubby was going to say something but they left party. Tank also stated it shouldn't take 40 mins to do this dungeon when it should only take 20 mins.

I mean come on. We are new to dungeon and guide doesn't say how taxing it is to heal when tanks and blms. don't dodge aoes. People have too big of a stick up their asses. If they don't want new players in dungoens, then don't fuckin' use Duty Finder.  I have to say, I am not a horrible Brd and hubby is an awesome whm, never really have too much issues in dungeons. At least we now have a feel of the dungeon and will probably do a much better job next run.

Level 60

I have made level 60 in 2 weeks which is much better than the year it took me to reach level 50. I made it a priority to level this time. I will be slowing down now. I have things that I put off to do.

Well getting 60 was not bad. Not much of a grind. If you do all the quests, you pretty much level. Also toss in some hunts and a few fates. Otherwise it was pretty seamless.

The terrain was interesting. It certainly make you feel like you have to fly. Just to get flying was an adventure. FYI, everything aggros. There are no safe areas (unless in a town). With the flying you are able to do sightseeing easy. I was not planning on doing sightseeing. However, if I past a spot, I stop and do it. I haven't even looked at the log.

Flying is fun but you can lose your friend easily if you are flying together, just by flying at different levels. I am not great at camera movement. I drive my hubby crazy, lol.

So we finished the MSQ last night. The story is just awesome. We lose some characters we like and some we hate. There are still so many unanswered questions. One question was definitely answered. We do find out where Nidhogg's other eye is/was. So much has happened and much more to happen.

So we've done 3 trials. One I disliked was Bismark. You can find why here. Ravana and the surprise trial was pretty okay, mostly standard. Funny story, last night my hubby convinced me to do a trial roulette. He said "it's max 10 mins, easy way to get Law." I'm tired so I said fine. We both queue up in DF. His pops first. He gets the Hydra fight. Mine pops 5 mins later. What do I get? Ravana!!! That's not a 10 min fight. I was wishing for a Giglamesh fight.

The saddest thing about the new expansion is that Y'shtola is no longer my twin. 😔 But she looks awesome tho. She's a but edgier. I like it.

Anyway....

My new goals:
1. Minion gathering
2. Mount gathering
3. Gear hunting
4. Plow thru beast tribe quests.
5. Complete extra dungeons to get access to extreme roulette

Heavensward Weekend

Heavensward Yay!!!

So this weekend was early access for Heavensward. You know hubby & I were all over it, starting Friday.

I must say, the new areas are expansive and beautiful. It's like a clear distinction between ARR & HW. They are like 2 different worlds. HW has 6 new areas, each massive. That is why we have the ability to fly.

The main story picks up from left off. It so far covers Ishgard issues and some ARR issues (that whole frame up issues). The new side quests and Beast Tribe stories are interesting. However, some of these side quests should be put under beast tribe quests and not just regular side quests.

So far, there's no grinding in the open. There are fates happening on a regular. We tried a few of them. There are hunt books (really don't know what else to call them, not really the S or A rank hunt stuff). We have tons of quests to do. There's no place that doesn't give you experience.

The only thing that's time consuming is looking for aether currents to fly. As of today, I only have 2 areas out of 6 where I can fly. They are not so easy to get. Sometimes a pain to get. But it is all a part of the fun.

We have also found sightseeing spots with our hunt and flying. I think we found 2 or 3. I haven't even touched those logs at all. They seem to be marking them now. So no guessing needed if you stumble upon them. You still may have to decipher the hint in the log otherwise. If you keep flying, you may find them.

I am really liking this new expansion. I'm having fun. So far I have completed 2 dungeons and 1 trial. First dungeon, Dusk Vigil, was a bit easy. Second dungeon, Sohm Al, was a bit hard but was able to complete on first time. Able to use mechanics learned from ARR that has been ingrained in me. The enemies in second dungeon had way too much HP tho. They didn't go down fast enough.

Dusk Vigil

Sohm Al

At end of day last night, hubby and I were level 54. We are not hardcore raiders who are level 60 already. We are enjoying the game and not skipping cut scenes. We also go to bed at decent hours. But we will be continuing our journey.

Here are some pics:

Tomorrow Says Frog

Last night I logged off of XIV for the last time in ARR. It was a sad. Did I accomplish what needed to be done by time I signed off? I would say 75%. However the missing 25% includes content I'm really not interested in.

So what did I accomplish:
1. I finished main scenario quests of course.
2. I finshed Hildebrand quests
3. I completed all of my dungeons (includes hard mode)

What I have not accomplished:
1. Coil - haven't touched it. Not really interested.
2. Extreme Primals - will come back to pony farm them. (Gotta catch 'em all)
3. In middle of beast tribe quest for Amal'ja and Kobolds (only doing for the mounts and minions for now; you know I have to catch 'em all)
4. In middle of the post moogle quests.

#s 2 - 4 I can go back to later on.

When I log in on Friday, I will log into Heavensward. Ishgard here I come. I'm a bit aprehensive about it. It's a whole new world with new gameplay. Sometimes change is scary, but we have to overcome the scary to reap great rewards.

My plans for Heavensward:
1. Level Bard to 60
2. Complete Main Scenario quests (I am really interested in the story. I want to know what happened to Yda, Y'shtola and the rest of the scions.)
3. Look and hope for to do more Hildebrand quests (SE hasn't said there were new ones, but I'm hoping there are some.)

After these goals, I probably will go back to complete ARR content. I know I'll probably (operative word there) work on the new relic.

Ishgard be very warned, Tiger is coming....

Until next time...

I Lose At ARR Bingo

So this Bingo card is on Reddit for FFXIV. So I decided to see where I fall. I lose. I am too casual to actually get Bingo.

Reasons I fail:
1. Have not done Extreme Primals yet & Slepnir should be counted as a pony.
2. Didn't get a Zeta weapon - waiting to do Level 60 Relic
3. I don't want to alter my character or clothes so no fantasia & glamour for me.
4. I am not a serious Raider, the tower is serious enough for me.I'm not so interested in Binding Coil.
5. I am not leveling all jobs & craft jobs to 50. I will try Summoner next. Then I may try to complete Dragoon.

My choices may change in time. But I thought this Bingo was cute enough to try.

A Pin Drop

I've been quiet in the blogging side lately. I just haven't been in the mindset. I have been busy in game tho. Here's list of what I've accomplished.
1. Finished Main Scenario Quests
2. Finished Hildebrand Quests
3. Got access to Expert Roulette

I am working on HM dungeons that I haven't done yet. I will probably work on the following:

1. Post Moogle quests
2. Minion collecting
3. Pony farming

I also need to decorate my house.

Gotta Get 'Em All

Well at leadt as much as possible. I found this site XIV-Minions.com. They list all minions and mounts and how to obtain them. As a Pokemon player, I have the urge to collect things. Preferably digitally since I don't have room physically. I think they all are cute and majes a good goal to have. I know there are some I will never get (like the ones you got from purchasing a CD etc). But for thise I can, I will make the best effort.

Here is the small list of mounts.
There are 35 mounts in total. I have 10  mounts so far. Currently working on 2 simultaneously.

Here is the lengthy list of minions:

There are a total of 118 minions. I only have 53. Pretty good since I haven't started to farm them yet.

Here's to getting them all.

Trial and Failure

So last night I finally get to do Chrysalis, one of the last major content to completing the main scenario quests. I was ready. I watched the video guide twice. I knew what to do.

I go in. I start doing my thing. Then the orbs come out. My controller jacked up. I literally had to re-callibrate it in middle of fight. However, it still wouldn't select any mobs. My weapon was drawn but I couldn't target for some reason. The mouse target didn't work either. Main guy comes back, I was able to target and attack. Thought that was end of the trouble. Orbs come out again. Again, I can't attack them. My controller goes wonky. Then my hubby who's just getting irritated at my complaining takes my controller and and all is well in his hands. Pisses me off a bit because the orbs had gone at this moment. So I continue to fight.
We get pulled into the alternate place and I forgot what fight I was doing. I was going to commit suicide by standing under a meteor. I realized a little too late. Died running off. Got raised. Ended back in normal zone. I fight vigorously again. Then those orbs come up again and my controller won't work again. I'm like fuck me. My husband thinks I don't know how to target or I'm mashing some weird combo on the controller. At this point of game, I know how to target and use the controller. Every now and then when I'm nervous I'll fumble. I wasn't nervous last night. So I was just getting angrier and angrier. The fight is done without much help from me. I feel bad about that. I don't want people to think that I was in the fight for a carry. Only thing is that I can think of is that when I was fighting the main guy, I was locked onto him. When he goes invulnerable, my lock sticks on him and I am unable to release it. I usually don't lick onto targets. I tend to do a soft lock where I can change targets constantly. This is the first time this has happened to me.

Then I am calling it quits for the night, I go to check my retainer and I can select the summoning bell, but it won't execute the command when I hit the button. I wait probably 30 secs and then finally the function happens and I do what I need to do. I make mention of it. Hubby takes controller again and just says it's in game lag.

I feel it has something with computer so when I got off game, I checked for updates and installed them. Hopefully my next major quest doesn't fail like this.

So if you were in my party yesterday evening, I apologize. That was not my best work.

So I have some new goals.
1. Complete main scenario quests
2. Complete Hildebrand quests
3. Work on completing beast tribe quests while I am doing #1 and 2. (Finish off Amal'ja and Kobolds first, then work on Sylphs & Sahagins next and Ixals the last.)
4. All else comes next.

My hubby is never too far from me in my travels. Isn't he adorable.

Tataru, aren't you supposed to be managing the books? Why do uou have time to juggle?

This is definitely the look I give when I doubt what's happening.

He stole my light. Now he's going to make me a crazy person. Hearing and seeing him while no one else can. As if I'm not crazy enough.

She was awesome. Good fight. She looks spectacular.

Was trying to take picture of the stars and comment how great this game is, but all you really see is Ember's ass.

All I have to say is 'Come on'. Those outfits tho.

Rest in Midst of Ramuh

In Case you can't read this:

So I am working thru the Main Scenario quests in order to do catch up for new expansion. I have completed up to v2.2 and just about completing v2.3. I did the Ramuh fight last night.

I must say, this fight was the best fight I've been in the WHOLE game. I swear it ran so smooth. I was not nervous at all. I was actually chilling. I was able to do my songs. Managed my TP well. Handled being targeted well. I didn't die. My heart rate didn't elevate. I actually was rested. Was leaning back on my chair too. I am still amazed how that fight went.

CT, ST & WoD I'm always at edge of chair and tense. It's always very hectic to me.

I just had to say how awesome this run went.

Repetition Is Not So Sirius

I'm at a point where there's a lot of repetition to get items needed to level my gear to 130. So that means the weekly Crystal Tower raids and daily Frontlines. I don't care for Frontlines much. I'm not into PvP much. There are too many people out there who like to Gank instead of playing fairly. Camping gates?? GTFOH!!!

I haven't done my beast tribe quests on weekdays as much as before. Work and health are the cause. I've been working late and I'm having major headache issues. So it limits time in the evenings.

This weekend, I finally started to work thru my list of dungeons to do. I tackled Pharoah Sirius. Wasn't that bad. I tanked the 1st boss when Tank, & Dragoon died. Apparently this boss is a pain. I was having fun. I was tackling the wolves as they spawned leaving the Tank to the boss. I have no idea what Dragoon was doing. He should've been assisting me in taking down the wolves. In the end, kiting and doing AOE kept us in the fight. No need to restart from beginning. I'm awesome like that. The dungeon was pretty interesting. I think I'll do Wanderer's Palace next. I want to new dungeons before I get to the hard mode dungeons. I also have another Ultima battle to do.

I am continuing on my main story quests. Right now they are leading me to the Leviathan fight. Fun fun. If this was XI, I'd be more excited because I'd get my Leviathan summon. Apparently XIV only gets 3 summons. They need to work on getting more.

Everyone is talking about leveling one of the new jobs in Heavensward expansion. I was thinking of trying Machinist. I changed my mind. I'm going to try Summoner instead. I want to try a mage DPS class. I miss my Red Mage from XI.

Anyway, here are some cool pics to tide you over.

People Are Funny

In case you can't read the picture:

So today was my first 2 runs in World Of Darkness. First run, was okay. Bard gear didn't drop. I was able to run a 2nd time due to weekly time limit. Anyway, in second run, the bard hat dropped, I needed it. Mind you there's another bard in party. Apparently he didn't want it because it immediately went to me. Then the next drop was bard robe, we both hit need. I rolled a 92 and he rolled a 40 something. Needless to say, I got the robe too. So for next couple of fights, he bitching about me getting the robe. The tank said it just luck of the lot. Just before last boss, the other bard announces that there's no need for him to finish run and then drops the party. We immediately get another bard and finish the fight. I just find it funny because that bard would not shut up about the robe. To top off the run I also got the onion knight TT card.

Hunt & Fashion

I have done some small posts on Lodestone. So I will post them as pictures here.

Here's my first one.

If you can't read the picture, here's the words.

I have done my first 2 A rank hunts: Hell Claw and Githab (something like that).  It was pretty fun and quick.

I also finally got my ilvl to 92. Now I can do a good chunk of duties that I had open but just couldn't do. I need more poetics. So I can get my pants then weapon.

I got my zenith relic weapon, what is next stage? If it's the 11 book one, i'm so not interested in the long time it takes to do the book.

I did hear a player did one book a day for 11 days straight. I don't know how true that is. If it didn't take all day, then I'd do it.

On the road to getting my character truly leveled for end game before Heavensward.

Doing Grown Woman Stuff

It's been about 2 weeks since I last posted. Work, taxes & XIV has kept me busy. Not to mention I've also been reading a lot during the times I usually write (during subway ride). I have haven't done any extremely OMG spectacular but I've been progressing.

I finally married my hubby on game. I posted our wedding pictures as well as my hubby. SE is awesome. All the details they put into the game is amazing. The wedding was beautifully done.

I have been working on getting Poetics so I can upgrade my gear. I am saving for body piece 1st (unless I get a ST drop) and then weapon 2nd. Currently my Item Level (ilvl) is 81. It needs to be like 120+. I am a bit squishy in dungeons & etc.

This is my daily routine now:
1. Mini Cacpot draw
2. Sign up for Frontline Roulette (in progress must be checked)
3. Do my beast tribe quests (currenyly working on Amalja and Kobolds).
4. Sign up for Syrcus Tower (this is newly add task)
5. Main Story Quests
6. Hildabrand Quests
This routine us standard in order that I do things and may differ slightly depending on wait times and times I'm available to play.

I have reached just over halfway mark on level 2 of my beast tribe quests for both the Kobolds & Amalja. At level 1, I liked the Amalja better. Now as level 2, I like the Kobolds better. It all now depends on location for me. I able a person who can get lost even though I have a marker showing me where the destination is. My sense of direction can be easily thrown off. Just call me Ryoga.

I now have done Syrcus Tower twice. My gear hasn't dropped at all. I did get tomb, oil and other gear that I can trade for seals. The run is not that bad actually. I'm still not clear on the ice, thunder and fire orbs in one fight. My second run I got all three on me. My first run, I didn't. I died more times in 2nd run too. I'll be less squishy when I get better gear. I think I also need to figure a way to get more HP. I'm in the 3000s I think. Maybe that'll come with the better gear.

Lately all my quests besides Main Story and Hildebrand have me unlocking Trials and Dungeons. I finally did Hullbreaker Isle. I actually got a ilvl 100 head piece there. Woo hoo my 1st high dungeon gear drop piece. I also opened Battle on the Bridge and did that fight. It was fun and funny. I ended up getting the Gilgamesh & Eniko TT card too. Awesome!!! I also did King Mog trial too. It was a nice scenic fight.

Currently my Main Scenario quests have to do with Yugiri. I wonder how long it's going to take to get me to Leviathan and then Shiva. I want to at least finish main scenarios before 3.0 comes out. I know Yugiri is an Au'ra race which we will see more of in 3.0. They should just unmask her anyway. There's other races in game we can't play as, like Kann-E (chic from Gridania with crown, don't remember name).

I am loving the Hildabrand quests. Need I say more. I want him as a minion. My very own Hildabrand. Wonder how you get him. I know you get the Green chicken in one of thd fights in this story line. Lol. These quests are awesome.

Here are some pics:

This is me currently.

She says King Mog is bad.

Does he look bad to you?

Anyways, we took care if the situation.

Look at me and hubby. We got our Level 90 version of our relic.

Evil men are just so arrogant. Lol.
